The usual use environment of the level transmitter is humid and easy to condense the site, such as the submersible level transmitter itself has good waterproof and moisture-proof ability, and the protection level reaches IP68. However, some on-site level transmitters still encounter internal water ingress, which directly leads to product damage and cannot be used normally.
In most cases, the water ingress inside the level transmitter is related to how the cables are connected. Improper handling or incorrect connection of cable connection points is the direct cause of water ingress in the level transmitter.
The use of waterproof junction boxes can avoid more than 95% of the damage caused by moisture or water entering the product cavity from the air hole or shielding layer. It is recommended that when the level transmitter cable is not directly connected to the distribution box or needs to be wired by itself, choose a waterproof wire box for cable connection. Waterproof junction box has a good waterproof and breathable effect. If it is outdoor or has lightning phenomenon, you can also choose a waterproof lightning and lightning resistant waterproof junction box. The figure below shows the level transmitter using a waterproof junction box to connect the extension cable.
If the user’s on-site cost is limited or needs to be wired by himself, the Xingyi technician recommends that the user use the N-shaped wiring method when connecting with the external cable. This wiring method can reduce the intrusion of water, but pay attention to the ventilation and drying of the terminal, and the ventilation pipe needs to be extended to conduct with the outside atmosphere. The figure below is a schematic diagram of the N-shaped wiring method.
