Pressure sensors are the most widely used measuring instruments in industrial automation, and some high-temperature media or high-temperature environments also require pressure sensors for gas or liquid measurements.
The medium temperature measured by the pressure sensor is generally -40~85°C, of course, there are some types of pressure sensors that are resistant to high temperatures, up to 130°C, etc. When measuring hot media, it is important to install the pressure sensor correctly, not only in terms of measurement accuracy, but also in terms of the service life of the sensor. If the pressure sensor is operated in a high-temperature environment for a long time and no protective measures are taken, it is easy to cause damage to the core, circuit board or other components.
If the temperature of the measuring medium is around 70°C to 80°C for a long time, it is necessary to install a heat sink for the pressure sensor. In this way, the heat of the medium is reduced by passing through the heat sink, avoiding direct contact with the pressure sensor. The measurement environment of the pressure sensor is guaranteed.
If the temperature of the measured medium exceeds 100 °C, or even reaches 200 °C, the increase of heat sink has no effect, this working condition needs to install a condensation ring at the pressure port and then add a heat sink, so that the medium is cooled through the condensation ring, and then the temperature is very low when the heat sink dissipates heat and is in direct contact with the pressure sensor.
In suitable working conditions, we can also extend the impulse tube to connect to the pressure sensor, or add a capillary tube and install a heat sink to achieve the effect of medium cooling. The above are several pressure sensor installation methods with high medium temperature.
