A primary instrument is one of the components of an automatic detection device. Equipped with sensing elements to sense changes in the parameters of the measured medium. Or have a ruler to indicate the reading; Or without a ruler, it does not indicate the reading itself. In an automatic detection and adjustment system, an instrument first contacts the measured parameters (such as pressure, differential pressure, liquid level, temperature, etc.), converts the measured parameters into measurable signals or standard signals, and then sends them to relevant units for display or adjustment according to the requirements of the detection and adjustment system. Pressure transmitters, differential pressure transmitters, liquid level transmitters, temperature transmitters, etc. can all be referred to as primary meters.
Primary instruments such as pressure transmitters are mostly installed scattered on site. For the convenience of on-site observation, some primary instruments also have a mechanism to display the measured parameters, but most of them convert the measured parameters into standard output signals and send them to the display instrument. The display instrument is used for indication, recording, alarm or accumulation, so the display instrument is called a secondary instrument relative to the primary instrument. It is generally installed on the instrument panel in the control room. When using, it is necessary to consider the appropriate coordination between the primary and secondary instruments.
