At the beginning of selecting a pressure transmitter, it is necessary to specify the tested medium, so that the pressure transmitter we choose can be used normally in our working conditions.
Firstly, we need to clarify the corrosiveness of the tested medium. Select the corresponding pressure transmitter based on the degree of corrosion of the tested medium. Generally speaking, pressure transmitters made of stainless steel can be used for non strong acids and strong alkalis.
Secondly, it is also necessary to understand whether the measured medium is viscous. For media such as pigments or paints, a flat film pressure transmitter should be selected. The flat film pressure transmitter is easy to disassemble, clean, and hygienic.
Thirdly, the safety of the measured medium. If the medium to be measured by the pressure transmitter is flammable and explosive, we must choose an explosion-proof pressure transmitter. Explosion proof pressure transmitters provide safety protection for the on-site environment.
Fourthly, if the environment in which the measured medium is located is humid, the waterproof performance of the pressure transmitter must be higher. Otherwise, it is easy to cause water to enter the pressure transmitter, causing it to malfunction or burn out.
Another scenario is that the tested medium is a mixture of small particles such as mud and wet soil, and using an impact resistant pressure transmitter is a wise choice. The impact resistant pressure transmitter has a high protection level, and the special design of the internal structure will reduce the impact of the tested medium on the diaphragm of the pressure transmitter, making the service life of the pressure transmitter longer.
