Differential pressure transmitter is a pressure measuring instrument that is very commonly used in various chemical and other industrial fields. Dealing with the problem of the reverse connection of the high and low pressure impulse pipes of the differential pressure transmitter is more difficult for the pneumatic transmitter and some electric transmitters in the past, and it needs to be reinstalled, especially for the process equipment that is being put into operation and the instrument system equipped with thermal insulation and heat tracing, which is a troublesome thing. However, for today’s similarly intelligent differential pressure transmitters, the solution to deal with the wrong connection of high and low pressure conduits is relatively simple.
When the differential pressure transmitter is used to measure the hydrostatic level, the impulse tube is reversed, and the output can only be displayed in reverse regardless of the convention. When measuring the flow rate of the differential pressure transmitter, the impulse pipe is reversed and usually does not work. For differential pressure transmitters with forward and reverse conversion, if the impulse tube is reversed, as long as the differential pressure transmitter is changed to the reverse output state, and then the zero point positive and negative migration is performed, the differential pressure transmitter can perform conventional output, so that there is no need to modify the impulse conduit. If the pressure transmitter does not have forward and reverse output functions, the signal can only be processed forward and backward in the DCS system, and the control screen can be displayed normally.
There are also some things to pay attention to in the use of differential pressure transmitters, such as: it is recommended to keep the pressure connections at both ends level when installing the differential pressure transmitter so that the installation position can reduce the influence of the transmitter.
