The correct installation of the differential pressure transmitter relative to the process pipe depends on the medium being measured. When a differential pressure transmitter measures the flow of liquids, the pressure port should be installed on the side of the process pipe to avoid slag sedimentation. The transmitter should be mounted on the side or under the pressure tap to allow the gas to be discharged into the process line. When a differential pressure transmitter measures gas flow, the pressure take-off should be mounted on the top or side of the pipe. The transmitter should be mounted on the side or under the pressure tap to allow the liquid to drain into the process line. When a differential pressure transmitter measures steam flow, the pressure take-off should be mounted on the side of the process pipe. The transmitter is mounted underneath the pressure intake to allow condensate to flow into the impulse tube. When using a differential pressure transmitter with an exhaust/drain valve on the side, the pressure port should be installed on the side of the pipe, and when the working medium of the differential pressure transmitter is liquid, the exhaust/drain valve should be on top to remove the gas, and when the working medium of the differential pressure transmitter is gas, the valve should be below to eliminate the accumulation of liquid. Turn the flange 180° to change the upper and lower positions of the side vent/drain valves. Notes related to this: 1. Corroded or overheated media should not be in contact with the differential pressure transmitter. 2. Prevent slag from settling in the impulse pipe. 3. The hydraulic head in the two impulse pipes should be balanced. 4. The impulse tube should be as short as possible. 5. The impulse tube should be installed in a place with small temperature fluctuations and temperature gradients. 6. When measuring steam or other high-temperature medium, the working temperature of the transmitter should not exceed the limit, for steam measurement, the impulse pipe should be filled with water to prevent the transmitter from contacting with steam, because the volume change of the transmitter is very small, no condenser is needed.
