Compared with other transmitters, the double flange differential pressure transmitter is slightly complicated in installation due to its special structure, and today we will explain in detail the installation method of the double flange differential pressure transmitter.
The flange connection hole of the double flange differential pressure transmitter is 1/4-18NPT (tapered pipe thread); Flange fittings are 1/2-14NPT. Unscrew the screws of the flange fitting and the double flange differential pressure transmitter is easily removed from the process pipe. The center distance between the two flange connection holes is 54mm (2/8″), and the connecting pipe can be mounted directly on the flange. The center hole can be changed to 51, 54 or 57 mm (2″, 2/8″ or 2/4″) by turning the flange fitting.
The body of the double-flange differential pressure transmitter can be rotated in the flange, and as long as the flange joint is kept vertical, the rotation of the transmitter body will not cause a change in the zero point. If the flange is installed horizontally (e.g. to measure the flow rate in a vertical pipe), the influence of the hydraulic head due to the different height of the connecting pipe must be eliminated and the zero point must be adjusted again.
The correct installation of a double flange differential pressure transmitter relative to the process pipe depends on the medium being measured, and the following should be considered to determine the appropriate installation location.
1. Corrosive or overheated media should not be in contact with the double flange differential pressure transmitter.
2. Prevent slag from precipitating in the impulse tube of the double flange differential pressure transmitter.
3. The hydraulic head in the two impulse pipes should be balanced.
4. The impulse tube should be as short as possible.
5. The impulse tube should be installed in a place with small temperature fluctuations and temperature gradients.
