Transmitters have become indispensable instruments in many industries. Transmitters detect engineering parameters (such as temperature, pressure, liquid level, humidity) and transmit measurement values in specific signal forms for display and adjustment. Many users install the transmitter directly upon receiving it, and soon after, various problems and malfunctions occur.
Today, we will share with engineers who have many years of experience in using transmitters, summarizing and refining some precautions for transmitter installation and use to ensure the normal operation and use of your transmitter.
Firstly, if it is a pipeline installation, before installing the transmitter, the pipeline should be purged to prevent ferromagnetic substances retained in the pipeline from adhering to the instrument, affecting its performance and even damaging the transmitter.
Secondly, the installation form of the transmitter can be divided into vertical installation and horizontal installation. When installing, it is necessary to pay attention to the installation angle and not have a large tilt.
Thirdly, if you choose a transmitter with a LCD display for your operating conditions, be careful to avoid direct sunlight on the display during installation to increase the lifespan of the transmitter’s LCD display.
Fourthly, the transmitter should pay attention to protecting the outgoing cables. The cable joints must be sealed to prevent water ingress or moisture from affecting the performance and lifespan of the transmitter. The rear lead of the transmitter should ensure good conductivity with the atmosphere.
Fifth, the installation positions of the pressure pipes, air ducts, and threading pipes of temperature transmitters, pressure transmitters, and other transmitters should avoid obstructing future production operations, avoid high-temperature corrosive areas, and be firmly fixed; The lowest lead end of the conduit that is led down from the top should be lower than the inlet end of the connected transmitter wiring; The lowest end of the conduit should be equipped with a drip tee; Y-shaped or conical explosion-proof sealing joints should be added near the transmitter side.
